About us
Welcome to our website. We are a family that really fell in love with the Ragdoll breed. We love all animals and we consider them an added value to our life. Our cats are very important to us, they are part of the family and they get a lot of attention, care and love. The name of my cattery, Aramis de Neria, means A Ragdoll Mission (ARAMIS) of Neria as it is my mission to do the best for our cats and to offer healthy kittens according to the breed standard to their new families. At the same time we are vey active in rescuing stray cats and dogs. Unfortunately stray animals, mainly cats and dogs are a big problem in Cyprus. We support some cat shelters and we take care of abandoned kittens and try to re-home them.
In order to learn more about cats, their behavior, genetics etc, we have followed a 2 year online course via the pawpeds academy. It was a very interesting course and we would recommend it to other breeders and cat lovers.
We started our cattery in 2008 in Belgium. While visiting a cat show in Brussels we fell in love with the beautiful blue eyes and looks of Ragdolls. We had never seen a Ragdoll before and we were astonished. As soon as we got home we started reading more about the breed on the internet about Ragdolls. Their character perfectly matched our family: affectionate, calm, and sociable. Hence, we decided to adopt one. It was however more difficult than we thought. Finding the right breeder, being on a waiting list for almost a year before being able to get our first Ragdoll (Cashmere). Soon afterwards we decided to get a companion for her and Indy joined the family.
Breeding cats is a big responsibility and requires a lot of time and sacrifices. The entire family is devoted to these beautiful animals that conquered our heart and home. The biggest satisfaction of breeding Ragdolls is the big smile upon people’s faces when visiting the cattery, as well as the feedback and pictures we receive once the kittens have settled in their new homes. It is very touching when people send us emails to express their happiness and satisfaction.
After some years the family decided to move to Cyprus (a beautiful island in the Mediterranean sea).
Our 4 Ragdolls moved along. They all enjoy a wonderful life here. They can freely move around in the house and they also have access to an outdoor space of 150m². A camera system has been installed in order to be able to watch our cats 24h a day.
We are the first cattery to introduce Ragdolls to Cyprus and this is very exciting. In 2011 the first “Cypriot” Ragdolls were born! We breed according to the official rules of the cat clubs. We are member of the Belgian Cat Fanciers, (BCF) and the Cyprus Cats National Breed Association (CyCNBA) (member of WCF). All our Ragdolls are yearly tested for HCM, PKD, Felv and Fiv (you can read more details in the section: Ragdoll).
Every now and then we have kittens and these are very exciting moments, as the whole experience is unique. Breeding Ragdolls is a passion and a hobby and we feel blessed that they are part of our life.
